I just want a small point and shoot that I can get pretty much anywhere (Circuit City or PC Richards). Thanks in advance for your help.

My mother and I have the Canon PowerShot SD1100IS. It’s a great pocket camera for the price and features.
$154.00 at Amazon.com.
$164.85 at Walmart.
$179.99 at Bestbuy.
I’ll stick to my disposable cameras from Walgreens.
I couldn’t say it better than Mandy! Very good image quality, 3X optical, 8 megapixels, has image stabilizer. Canon SD1100 IS. Cheapest on line: check out Amazon.com
B&H Photo
Beach Camera
Abe’s of Maine
Adorama
I’ve had a bunch of digital cameras. Some good, some really crappy. The best one in the price range you’ve mentioned from my experience is a Kodak EasyShare. The picture quality is very nice, it is easy to use, the charger and USB cable work together so there aren’t a million different parts to tote around, it take standard SD cards, and has survived more than a few drops. If/When it dies, I will replace it with another. Love it!!
Mandy is on the right track, but there are some other Canon’s in your price range you might like.

Before you order from any online merchant, you should know there are many scam sites out there. “If it looks too good to be true, it probably is.” Check out merchants at:

Good luck and good shooting.
I like my canon A570IS, it’s almost 2 years old and I still like it. I have a sony cyber shot that I still use and it’s ok, my granddaughter age 2 1/2 takes good pictures with the sony, so if a 2 year old can use it, I guess it’s pretty good. I absolutely hate my olympus 5000, I have never been able to take a good pic with it.
