I am deciding between to digital cameras to buy, which one would be best for my needs?

I am going on a trip for a few weeks and want to be able to take good pictures and do some HD video too. I am between Canon SX200 IS and the Canon SD970 IS. Can anybody recommend one of them (or even another camera that you have had a good experience with)? Thanks
