SLR digital cameras are a combination of new technology with the use of older cameras. SLR stands for single-lens reflex which basically describes the way that the camera takes its photo. Older cameras took photos by opening a shutter that allowed the lens to project light into the image sensor. This process allows for more dynamic photos than your standard digital camera.
